Jefferson County Aids OlyCAP's Working Image

Soroptimist International of Port Townsend-East Jefferson County presented a check for $500 to OlyCAP's Working Image coordinator, Bonnie White, at their weekly meeting on Thursday, April 2, at Discovery View Apartments.

"I have been pleased to learn that SIPT has been assisting Working Image/OlyCAP annually for the past 10 years," said Bonnie White, as she accepted the donation. "Your support has been invaluable to us at meeting the needs of women in the county and we are grateful for your continuing support."

Working Image/OlyCAP serves women aged 18 to 70+, who are at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. More than 25 agencies refer Working Image/OlyCAP job-ready women, or women in emergency circumstances.

Working Image/OlyCAP assists in preparing women for work in a unique way. They are dedicated to the otherwise unmet need on the Olympic Peninsula of providing low-income women with complete work-appropriate outfits, as well as that intangible "something extra" that everyone needs to succeed in today's world.

The mission of Working Image is a perfect fit for the goals of Soroptimist International members, who seek to improve the lives of women and girls throughout the world. The local Port Townsend-East Jefferson County organization has a history of meeting that goal for over six decades.
