May 2008
Soroptimists' motto is "...better the life for women and children locally and globally..." meshes well with the local club's 2008 goals to make life better for the foster children in Jefferson County. Susan Zoya, left, president of SI-PT/E. Jefferson County presents a $1,000 check to Laurie Gates and Sharon Beers, foster moms who started the Foster Kids Closet. The donation will help with basic needs of size 0-6 clothing, diapers and supplies. To hear more about the program, come to the Thursday, June 5 noon meeting of SIA at Discovery View Retirement Apartments on Hancock Street. Lunch is $10. To donate children clothing (new
or gently used), diapers, blankets, school supplies, or to ask a few
questions. call Laurie Gates, 437-0645, or Sharon Beers at 385-1660.
